X Bulk Muter

X Bulk Muter lets you mute or block dozens (or hundreds) of X/Twitter accounts at once from a simple pasted list. No more clicking through profiles one by one.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open the extension popup while logged in to X
2. Paste a list of @handles (one per line)
3. Choose Mute (default) or Block
4. Click "Start Muting" and watch the real-time progress log

The extension opens each profile in a background tab, clicks the mute/block option in the profile menu, closes the tab, and moves to the next account automatically. Processing continues even if you close the popup or switch tabs.

KEY FEATURES

• Bulk mute — Default mode. Quietly removes accounts from your timeline.
• Bulk block — Toggle to block mode for stronger action. Confirmation dialogs are handled automatically.
• Background processing — Muting/blocking continues even if you close the popup or switch to other tabs. Reopen the popup at any time to check progress.
• Smart detection — Automatically skips accounts that are already muted/blocked, suspended, or don't exist.
• Duplicate detection — Removes duplicate handles from your list and remembers previously processed accounts across sessions so they are skipped instantly on future runs.
• Rate-limit safe — Detects X's rate limit warnings and auto-pauses with a 5-minute cooldown timer. Random delays (3–8 seconds) between actions reduce detection risk.
• Pause and resume — Pause the process at any time and pick up where you left off.
• Real-time progress — Live log shows every action (success, skipped, failed) with a progress bar and summary stats.
• Login detection — Shows your logged-in X username so you know which account is active.
• Clear history — A "Clear History" button lets you reset the list of previously processed accounts if you want to re-run them.

GITT-NO LEADERBOARD BANNER

The extension popup includes a banner at the bottom that links to the GITT-NO Leaderboard (gitt-no.com), a related project by the same developer. The GITT-NO Leaderboard tracks X accounts that consistently post false content as identified by Grok. Clicking the banner opens gitt-no.com in a new browser tab. The banner is informational only and does not collect data or affect the extension's muting/blocking functionality.

PRIVACY FIRST

• No data collection — zero analytics, zero tracking, zero telemetry.
• No external servers — everything runs locally in your browser.
• No remote code — all scripts are bundled in the extension package.
• Your @handle list is held in memory only and is not transmitted anywhere.
• The only data persisted locally is a history of handles you have already muted/blocked, stored via chrome.storage.local to avoid reprocessing. This data never leaves your browser.
• The extension only accesses x.com and twitter.com. No other sites are touched.

GOOD TO KNOW

• You must be logged in to X/Twitter in Chrome for the extension to work.
• X may change its UI at any time, which could temporarily break the extension. Updates will be released promptly if this happens.
