Wut supports three AI providers. Use whichever you already have an API key for:

• Claude Haiku 4.5 (Anthropic)
Best for: Accuracy and nuanced analysis
Cost: ~$0.005 per page (~0.5 cents)

• GPT-4o mini (OpenAI)
Best for: Speed and cost efficiency
Cost: ~$0.001 per page (~0.1 cents)
Get key: platform.openai.com

• Gemini 2.0 Flash (Google)
Best for: Lowest cost, generous free tier
Cost: Near-free under Google AI Studio limits
Get key: aistudio.google.com

You can register multiple API keys and switch between models anytime in settings. Each model's API key is stored separately.

Actual cost depends on page length. The estimates above are for a typical landing page (~2,000 words).

• Results are cached locally for 24 hours
• Revisiting the same page shows results instantly — no API call, no cost
• You can force a fresh analysis anytime with the refresh button
• Cache is stored on your device only and expires automatically

USAGE HISTORY

Up to 1,000 recent records are stored locally. Nothing is sent to any server.

PRIVACY — NO SERVERS, NO TRACKING
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

This is important, so let's be clear:

• Wut has NO servers. Zero. None.
• Your API keys are stored on your device only (chrome.storage.local)
• Page content is sent ONLY to the AI provider you chose (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google) — and only when you click the icon
• No analytics. No cookies. No tracking pixels. No telemetry.
• Wut requests minimal permissions: activeTab (read current page), storage (save your keys and cache), scripting (extract page text)
• Uninstall the extension and everything is gone. There's nothing on our end to delete because we never had it.

WHO BUILT THIS AND WHY

Wut was built out of frustration.

Every time I found a new tool or service, I'd spend 20 minutes trying to figure out what it actually does. Landing pages are designed to sell, not to inform. So I'd end up copying the URL into an AI chatbot, asking "what is this?", waiting, reading, and then deciding it wasn't for me.

Wut is the tool I wished existed: click once, get the verdict, move on.
