Website Modifier is a Chrome extension that uses GPT-4 and DALL-E to instantly transform the content of any webpage. Replace headlines, body text, and images with AI-generated content on any topic — all directly in your browser, in seconds.

Whether you're a designer mocking up content for a client, a teacher demonstrating media literacy, or a developer prototyping ideas, Website Modifier gives you a powerful creative tool without touching a single line of code.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Install the extension and add your OpenAI API key (free to get at platform.openai.com)
2. Navigate to any article, news site, or blog
3. Open the extension popup, enter your topic or transformation instruction
4. Click "Transform" — the page updates in 20–60 seconds
Transformed content exists only in your browser. Nothing is published to the internet.

TWO POWERFUL MODES

• Transform Mode — Modify specific details while keeping the article's structure intact. Change a statistic, swap a name, localize content for a different region. The AI makes precise edits while preserving everything else exactly as it was.

Example: "Change the unemployment rate from 3.7% to 5.2%"
Example: "Replace San Francisco with Austin throughout"

• Replace Mode — Completely replace the page with an entirely new topic. The AI matches the original article's structure, length, and journalistic tone, then rewrites it from scratch on your chosen subject.

AI IMAGE GENERATION

Replace images on the page with AI-generated alternatives using DALL-E 3 or DALL-E 2.

• Manually select exactly which images to replace — click any image on the page to target it
• Generated images are stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB) for offline viewing
• Replaced images automatically match the dimensions of the originals so your layout stays intact
• Replace up to 5 images per transformation
• Choose your preferred model: DALL-E 3 for highest quality, DALL-E 2 for faster generation and more flexibility

SMART CONTENT MATCHING

Website Modifier doesn't just overwrite text — it analyzes the page structure and matches every element:

• Headlines and subheadings are rewritten to match the new topic
• Each paragraph is replaced individually, maintaining the same length and style
• Image captions are updated to match the new images
• Author bylines and publish dates are preserved from the original
• URL in the address bar updates to reflect the new content (local only)
• Meta tags are updated so the page title matches the transformation

AUTO-INTERCEPT CACHING

Save any transformation and have it automatically re-apply whenever you revisit that URL.

• Intercept original URLs — visit the real URL and see your transformed version automatically

ARTICLE LENGTH CONTROL

A simple slider lets you control how much of the article gets processed:
