Void Score — Platform Rat

Void Score shows you how any digital platform exploits your attention — before you engage.

The browser badge displays a score from 0 to 12 for every website you visit, color-coded from green (low risk) to dark red (critical). Click the badge to see the full breakdown: three core dimensions, thermodynamic phase estimates, time spent today, EU compliance flags, and a direct link to the full case study for your platform's category.

Based on the Void Framework — a peer-reviewed research methodology with 57 published papers on Zenodo. 271+ platforms scored using a rubric derived from information thermodynamics, gambling regulation theory, and social neuroscience.

WHAT IT MEASURES:
- Opacity (0-3): How much of the system is hidden from you
- Responsiveness (0-3): How the system adapts to your behavior
- Engagement (0-3): How the system captures and holds attention
- Gradient Direction: Whether the design steers toward dependency
- Three binary modifiers: agent-to-agent dynamics, identity persistence, economic incentives

Total Void Index: 0-12. Scores are independent, peer-reviewed, and falsifiable.

METHODOLOGY:
Three dimensions + modifiers produce the Void Index. When opacity, responsiveness, and engaged observation are simultaneously active, the system functions as a void — an attention-capturing structure where user agency erodes through the path of least resistance.
