Voice Bubble — Hands Free
✨ AI-Powered View on Chrome Web StoreChrome will indicate if you already have this installed.
Overview
Voice Bubble adds a small, draggable microphone bubble to every page. Click any
text box, press the mic, and just talk — your words are typed straight into that
field, live. Built for hands-free and one-handed use, but handy any time talking
is faster than typing.
WHAT IT DOES
• Types into whatever field you click — search boxes, forms, textareas, and rich
editors (works with modern web apps like Gmail, Docs-style editors, chat apps).
• A floating bubble you can drag anywhere; it remembers where you put it.
• 18 languages, switchable on the fly.
• Auto-stops after a configurable pause, so you don't have to reach for "stop".
• Append to a field or replace it on each dictation.
• Per-field buttons: record, clear the field, and release it.
HOW IT WORKS
Voice Bubble uses your browser's built-in speech recognition. The microphone is
requested once and then works on every site — no re-prompting as you move around
the web.
PRIVACY
• No accounts, no tracking, no servers of our own.
• Your settings (language, pause time, mode) and the bubble's position are stored
locally in your browser.
• Speech is transcribed by the browser's built-in Web Speech API, which sends
audio to the browser vendor's speech service for recognition — the same service
any website's voice input uses. Voice Bubble adds nothing on top of that.
WHY IT EXISTS
I built Voice Bubble for my girlfriend after she dislocated a finger and spent
weeks with her arm in a cast, which made typing slow and painful. I hope it makes
working at a laptop a little easier for you too.
TIP
Click a text box, press the mic in the bubble (or the small record button that
appears inside the field), and start talking.
