Overview
ThreadPulse keeps fast-moving Reddit comment threads current without a full-page reload.
It is built for live discussions, race threads, game threads, and other comment-heavy moments where new replies keep arriving while you read.
Instead of replacing Reddit with a custom reader, ThreadPulse works with Reddit's native thread UI and adds a compact live control bar directly on the page.
Features:
- Live updates for supported Reddit comment threads
- Native Reddit comments stay native
- Compact live control capsule in the page corner
- Per-thread settings
- Adjustable refresh interval
- Queued updates when you are reading older comments
- One-click view of queued comments when you are ready
- Optional focus mode to hide page chrome and collapse the thread intro
- Automatic hiding of Reddit comment-page ad elements
- Demo mode for testing the live-update experience
Privacy and permissions:
- Requests storage, Reddit host access, and optional notifications when the user enables desktop alerts
- Initializes across Reddit pages and activates on supported comment-thread pages so it can refresh comments in place without missing SPA thread visits
- Uses a small background service worker for badge counts and optional desktop alerts
- Does not request tabs, history, cookies, webRequest, or declarativeNetRequest
- Does not include telemetry, analytics, ads, or third-party data sharing in the current version
ThreadPulse is a focused live-thread utility, not a broad Reddit overhaul.
