Smart Blur

Smart Blur is a Chrome extension that blurs and redacts personally identifiable information (PII) on any webpage. All processing runs locally in your browser—nothing is sent to external servers.

**AI mode — best for unstructured PII**
Turn on AI mode to automatically detect and blur sensitive text that’s hard to catch with rules alone:
• Street addresses and full addresses
• Usernames and account names
• Person names (first, last, full)
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Bank Account Number
• Other personal identifiers in free-form text

The AI model runs entirely in your browser using local machine learning. It’s ideal for pages with mixed or unstructured content where manual keywords and regex are not enough.

**Manual mode**
• Keywords: blur exact phrases you define
• Regex presets: email, SSN, credit card, custom patterns
• Click-to-blur: select any element on the page to blur it
• Draw-to-blur: draw rectangles over areas to redact

**Privacy**
• 100% private and local: no page content or PII is sent to our servers
• Optional Pro subscription (AI mode, save per page, import/export) is handled by ExtensionPay; core blurring stays on-device
