SleepyTabs is a browser extension that helps you manage browser tabs by automatically putting inactive tabs to sleep to save memory and improve browser performance.

Note: SleepyTabs is made for Firefox with support for Chrome. Some features may not be available in chrome or may act slightly different. I do my best to ensure it works the same across different browsers.

🛠️ Tab Management:

Basic Controls:
- Sleep Current Tab - Immediately put the current tab to sleep
- Sleep All Tabs - Put all eligible tabs to sleep at once
- Wake All Tabs - Restore all sleeping tabs with one click

Tab Type Handling:
- Pinned Tabs - Control sleep behavior for pinned tabs
- Grouped Tabs - Manage sleep settings for tab groups
- Private Tabs - Special handling for private/incognito windows
- Reader Mode Tabs - Custom behavior for reader view tabs

Tab State Management:
- Active Tabs - Option to sleep even the currently active tab
- Audible Tabs - Control whether playing audio prevents sleeping
- Loading Tabs - Prevent sleeping of tabs that are still loading

Themes:
- Dark (Default) - Easy on the eyes in low light

- Forest - Nature-inspired green theme

Wallpapers:
- Enable custom wallpapers for sleeping tabs
- Set any image URL as wallpaper
- Adjust brightness to ensure text remains readable

Title Customization:
- Add emoji prefixes to sleeping tabs
- Choose from preset emojis or set a custom prefix
- Options include: 💤 (Sleeping), 😴 (Sleep Face), 🛌 (In Bed), 🌙 (Moon), and more

⚙️ Advanced Settings:

Performance:
- Check Interval - How often to check for inactive tabs (default: 10s)
- Grace Period - Additional time before sleeping tabs after becoming inactive
- Batch Processing - Control how many tabs are processed at once
- Sleep Delay - Time between processing individual tabs

Behavior:
- Discard Only - Just unload tabs without showing sleep page
- Auto-Restore - Automatically wake tabs when clicked
- Floating UI - Keep the popup interface always visible

📂 Data Management:
- Whitelist - Prevent specific sites from being put to sleep
- Settings Sync - Keep your preferences in sync across browsers
- Import/Export - Backup or transfer your configuration
- Reset Options - Restore default settings when needed

⌨️ Keyboard Shortcuts:
- Sleep Current Tab: Ctrl+Shift+1
- Sleep All Tabs: Ctrl+Shift+2
- Wake All Tabs: Ctrl+Shift+3
- Open SleepyTabs Sidebar: Ctrl+Shift+4
- Wake Sleeping Tab: Enter (when focused on a sleeping tab)

Technical Details:
SleepyTabs is made for Firefox with support for Chrome. The extension works by:
1. Monitoring tab activity using browser events
2. Storing tab information in the browser's local storage
3. Replacing inactive tabs with lightweight placeholder pages
4. Restoring tabs to their original state when needed

Privacy:
SleepyTabs operates entirely within your browser. No data is sent to external servers, and all tab information is stored locally in your browser's storage.
