Overview
Find exactly the URLs you need from any XML sitemap
Sitemap URL Filter lets you open any XML sitemap in Chrome, type a directory path or string, and instantly pull out every matching URL. No spreadsheet wrangling, no manual scanning. Just the URLs you need, ready to copy or download.
Built for SEO professionals who regularly need to audit specific sections of a site's sitemap -- a product category, a blog subfolder, a regional subdirectory, or any other path-based segment.
What it does
Open any XML sitemap in Chrome, click the extension icon, enter the directory or path you want to filter by (for example /blog/ or /products/uk/), and click Filter. The extension reads the sitemap on the current page, parses every URL, and returns only the ones that match. Results appear immediately in the popup.
Works with standard urlset sitemaps and sitemap index files. For sitemap index files it will extract the sitemap URLs listed within them. Handles large sitemaps with thousands of URLs without issue.
Key features
Directory filtering -- filter the full sitemap by any path string, subdirectory, or keyword. Partial matches are supported so you can be as broad or specific as you need.
Instant results -- matching URLs are displayed in a scrollable, selectable list directly in the popup.
Copy to clipboard -- copy the full filtered URL list with a single click, ready to paste into a spreadsheet, document, or tool.
CSV download -- export the filtered URLs as a UTF-8 encoded CSV file for use in Excel, Google Sheets, or any other workflow.
Smart detection -- the extension checks whether the current page looks like an XML sitemap before you run a filter, and alerts you if the page may not be a valid sitemap.
Built-in user guide -- accessible from the extension footer at any time.
Who it is for
SEO professionals auditing specific sections of a site during migrations, redirects planning, or content audits. Technical SEOs who need to validate which URLs are included in a sitemap for a given subdirectory. Digital marketers and content teams who need a fast list of URLs from a particular site section without downloading and processing the full sitemap manually.
Good to know
The extension works on the raw XML sitemap page, not HTML sitemap pages. Navigate directly to the sitemap XML (for example yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml) before opening the extension. All processing happens locally in your browser -- no data is collected, stored, or transmitted anywhere.
Sitemap URL Filter is built and maintained by The Organic Agency.
