Salesforce Major Release

Overview
Make Salesforce major release weeks easier to spot.
Salesforce major releases can land on different dates depending on the instance your org is on — and it’s easy to miss the timing. Salesforce Major Release Ribbon adds a simple banner to your Salesforce header when a confirmed Major release is scheduled for your org’s instance during the current week (local time).
When you open Salesforce, the extension checks Salesforce Status and then either shows the ribbon or stays out of the way.
🔍 What It Does:
Adds a slim ribbon/banner at the top of the Salesforce header.
Briefly shows “Checking release status…” while it looks up the schedule.
Shows “Major release scheduled this week” when a Confirmed Major release overlaps this week.
Displays the release name and planned start time (in your local timezone).
Sets a small “!” badge on the extension icon when a release is due.
Includes a dismiss (×) button to hide the ribbon on that page.
✅ Works With:
Salesforce Lightning (*.lightning.force.com)
Salesforce domains (*.salesforce.com, *.force.com)
⚙️ How It Works:
Uses your org’s URL to identify the org alias.
Resolves that alias to an instance key via the Salesforce Status API.
Checks the Status “maintenances” feed for Confirmed Major releases for that instance.
🔒 Privacy:
Does not read Salesforce records or form input.
