Overview
Reciproq blocks the Post button on X until you've replied to a configurable number of other people's posts that day. You pick the number. Once you hit it, the lock opens and you can post freely until midnight in your local timezone, when the counter resets.
That is the whole product. No feed algorithm, no streaks, no points. One rule, enforced where the friction matters.
Why it exists
X rewards broadcasting. The accounts that get reach are the ones that reply to other people, but replying is the boring part, so most accounts skip it and wonder why the timeline never talks back.
Reciproq is a commitment device. It puts engagement before broadcasting on a daily basis. You decide the ratio. The extension enforces it.
How it works
1. Install the extension and pick a daily reply threshold: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30.
2. Spend a few minutes replying to other accounts on X. Real replies, not "great point".
3. Once you cross your threshold, the Post button unlocks for the rest of the day. Midnight in your local timezone resets the counter.
A small in-page indicator on x.com shows your progress. The extension popup, opened by clicking the toolbar icon, shows the same number alongside your threshold picker.
What it does not do
* Does not read your replies. The extension counts the network request, not the content. A one-way SHA-256 hash de-dupes replies across devices when you sign in for cross-device sync. The hash is irreversible.
* Does not track you. Anonymous by default. No email, no account, no analytics SDK. The only data that leaves your device is the opt-in cross-device sync for users who explicitly enable it.
* Does not gate mobile. Version 0 is desktop Chrome only. Closing the mobile X app bypass is on the roadmap.
* Does not preach. No streaks, no badges, no engagement-coach copy. Just lock and unlock.
What counts as a reply
Any tweet you submit on x.com or twitter.com whose request body is a reply, meaning it is in reply to another post, counts toward today's threshold. A minimum character gate prevents one-word replies from counting.
Privacy
The entire policy fits on one screen. Nothing leaves your browser unless you sign in for cross-device sync. For signed-in users, the data collected is: a random UUID not tied to your X handle, name, or email; a SHA-256 hash of each reply; a character count; a UTC timestamp; an event type; and your IANA timezone string. Reply text never leaves your device. IP logs are dropped at the edge.

Pricing
Reciproq is free in version 0. No paywall, no trial, no upsell modal. If a paid tier ships later, it will not gate the core lock and unlock mechanic.
