Overview
RecipeClip turns any YouTube cooking video into a clean, editable recipe card — so you can cook from the recipe instead of scrubbing back through the video every time you make it.
Click "Get recipe" on a cooking video and RecipeClip pulls the ingredients and step-by-step instructions into a tidy card in the side panel, with each step linked to the exact moment in the video. Edit anything, scale the servings, switch units, check off what you've done, and save it so you never have to rewatch the video again.
WHAT YOU GET
- Ingredients and numbered steps, extracted automatically
- Tap any step's timestamp to jump to that moment in the video
- Scale servings (½×, 1×, 2×) — quantities update across ingredients and steps
- Convert between US and metric units on the fly
- Tick-off checklists for shopping and cooking, remembered per video
- Overview tab: quick summary, the dish's origin, a chef's tip, dietary tags, equipment, and a rough nutrition estimate
- On-demand ingredient substitutions
- Edit any field, then copy as Markdown, export a .md file, or save
- A searchable library of every recipe you've saved
HOW IT WORKS
RecipeClip reads the video's description and transcript and uses AI to organize them into a structured recipe. It works best on videos that have captions or that list the recipe in the description. On some videos you may need to open YouTube's "Show transcript" once before clicking Get recipe — after that, the recipe is saved for good.
PRIVACY
Recipes you save stay in your browser. The extension never asks you to sign in and doesn't collect personal data.
