Overview
A Chrome extension that distills any webpage into a clean, readable summary - displayed in a polished overlay inspired by Safari's Reader Mode. Bring your own Anthropic API key. Private, fast, elegant.
Features
- One-click summaries - Click the extension icon or press Ctrl+Shift+S (⌘+Shift+S on Mac) to summarise the current page
- Four summary lengths - Brief, Standard, Detailed, or Full - adapts to article length, disabling presets that are too large for short content
- Smart extraction - Strips away navigation, ads, and clutter before summarising, with dedicated handling for Hacker News, Reddit, and Lobsters discussion threads (including commenter attribution)
- Streaming responses - Summary text appears progressively as it's generated
- Markdown rendering - Bold, italic, lists, and headings render cleanly if the model produces them
- 24-hour caching - Summaries are cached locally per URL and size preset
- Theming - Light, Sepia, Grey, and Dark modes with six font families and adjustable font size (13–24px)
- Usage tracking - Per-summary cost estimate in the footer, cumulative stats on the options page
- Share - Copy to clipboard (with title + URL), email via mailto, or save as Markdown file
- Error resilience - Inline error messages with retry, automatic 429 rate-limit handling with countdown
- Onboarding - Auto-opens setup on first install, badge reminder until API key is set
- Privacy-first - No analytics, no telemetry, no third-party calls. Your API key goes only to api.anthropic.com over HTTPS
