Overview
POP GMailMan Lite keeps Gmail’s “Check mail now” buttons on a short leash so your POP3 accounts refresh themselves.
★ What it does
• Opens Gmail’s Accounts & Import settings page and clicks every “Check mail now” button on a repeating schedule (15 / 20 / 10 minutes).
• Shows the last run time, next scheduled run, current state, and any automation errors directly in the popup so you know what’s happening.
• Survives Chrome restarts – as soon as you relaunch Chrome, POP GMailMan Lite schedules the next run and carries on.
• Detects multiple POP3 accounts automatically across the “Check email from other accounts” section.
★ How to use it
• Install the extension, pin it via the Chrome toolbar puzzle icon, and set the “Auto refresh” dropdown to the cadence you want (15 minutes by default).
• Keep Gmail signed in (the extension uses whichever profile is already active in Chrome).
• If Gmail’s layout changes, the popup shows any errors so you can reload the page or file a bug report.
★ Privacy & security
• No data is sent anywhere – everything runs locally inside Chrome using `tabs`, `alarms`, `storage`, and `scripting` permissions.
• The extension only touches `https://mail.google.com/*` tabs and never stores any message content. It simply clicks Gmail’s existing buttons.
★ Upgrade path
• Want the manual “Refresh POP mail now” button, 5-minute cadence, countdown timers, and per-account stats? Grab POP GMailMan PRO 👑 directly from ivansorkin.com (link in the popup).
