Overview
Protect yourself from unexpected phobia triggers while browsing. PhobiaBlocker automatically blurs images, videos, and embedded content when the surrounding text suggests they may contain something you want to avoid.
WHAT IS PHOBIABLOCKER?
PhobiaBlocker is a browser safety extension that helps you browse with more control. Add the words or topics you want to avoid, and PhobiaBlocker analyzes the text around images and videos to decide what should stay blurred.
Instead of waiting for you to report or manually hide content, PhobiaBlocker uses a blur-first, unveil-after approach: potentially unsafe media is blurred immediately, and content is only revealed after analysis suggests it is likely safe. If something goes wrong, it stays blurred.
HOW IT WORKS
Unlike basic keyword filters, PhobiaBlocker uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) with compromise.js to understand context and word variations. It can recognize plurals, verb forms, and irregular terms like "mouse" and "mice" while scanning the text around images, videos, and iframes.
PhobiaBlocker also keeps up with modern websites. Dynamic content on feeds, infinite-scroll pages, and single-page apps is analyzed as it appears, so protection continues while you browse.
