MyUW Plus, smarter enrollment on enroll.wisc.edu

MyUW Plus helps UW–Madison students make faster enrollment decisions. It adds useful context directly on the pages you already use, course search, scheduler, degree planner, and MyUW, without leaving the portal or opening a dozen tabs.

What you get:
GPA Color Highlighter: Average course GPAs from Madgrades appear as color-coded badges on course search, the scheduler, enrollment views, and the degree planner. Green, yellow, and red cutoffs are yours to set in the extension popup.

Degree Planner workload heatmap: Each planned term gets a Lighter / Moderate / Heavy load indicator based on the average GPA of its courses, so an overloaded semester is obvious before you commit.

Rate My Professors: Instructor ratings show up on scheduler blocks and in the course sections table (the “See sections” drill-down), so you can compare instructors while building a schedule or picking a section. Tap a badge to open the professor’s RMP profile.

Course Materials: On course search, badges show whether a course requires textbooks/materials, has none listed, or varies by section. A sidebar filter lets you narrow results by materials status.

Time / Day Filter: Filter course search by meeting days, times, section types, and open/waitlist status, right in the search sidebar.

Wiscard Alert: On the MyUW home page, get a low-balance warning when your Wiscard drops at or below a dollar threshold you choose.

Popup you can actually customize:
Per-feature on/off switches plus a master toggle
Live badge previews as you tune GPA and RMP thresholds
Eight themes (Light, Dark, Auto, Bucky, Terrace, Late Night, Jump Around, Cheese Curd)
Export / import settings as JSON for backup or another machine

Who it’s for:
Undergraduates planning schedules, comparing sections, checking waitlists, or sanity-checking term workload during enrollment and add/drop.

How to install and use:
- Install from the Chrome Web Store.
- Open enroll.wisc.edu and sign in as usual.
- Click the MyUW Plus icon to turn features on and set your thresholds.
- Use Course Search, Scheduler, or Degree Planner, badges and filters appear when the extension is enabled.

Contributions and issue reports are welcome. Note: the public repo is currently behind the Chrome Web Store build, v1.4 has not been pushed to GitHub yet, so the store version is the source of truth for what’s live. A sync is planned; until then, feature requests and bug reports via the store listing or hello@luminen.app are the fastest way to reach the maintainer.
