Link Visit Tracker

Link Visit Counter tracks website visits, time spent per domain, and browsing behavior patterns while keeping all data stored locally on your device.

Each domain remains individually visible and can also be grouped into categories for easier analysis. The extension provides daily, weekly, and lifetime views of browsing activity, along with local behavioral insights.

All analytics are calculated locally. No data is sent to external servers.

FEATURES

Domain-Level Tracking

Track visits and time spent for each domain individually (for example: youtube.com, github.com, reddit.com).

Domains can also be grouped into categories such as:

• Work
• Learning
• Social Media
• Entertainment
• News
• Other

Domains can be reassigned between categories and custom categories can be created.

Activity Views

Three activity views provide different time perspectives.

Daily
• Visits and time spent today
• Domain and category grouping
• Momentum ticker showing usage change

Weekly
• Last 7 days summary
• Domain and category totals
• Weekly reflection and trend comparison

Total (Lifetime)
• Long-term cumulative activity
• Domain and category changes over time
• Top domains list
• Category time distribution

All historical data is stored locally and preserved indefinitely.

Behavioral Insights

Local analysis detects patterns in browsing activity, including:

• Distraction patterns based on category transitions
• Rapid short-visit behavior
• Context-switching heatmap across 24 hours
• Recovery speed after distractions
• Hourly productivity drift
• Weekly and lifetime summaries

All insights are computed locally.

Focus Tools

The extension includes optional focus tools:

• Focus Score based on productive vs distracting categories
• Browser Balance score
• Deep work streak tracking
• Customizable focus session timers
• Session quality rating after completion

Users can create and save their own focus session presets.

Customization

Appearance and behavior can be customized:

• Dark and light theme modes
• Color presets and custom theme colors
• Saved theme presets
• Language selection with internationalization support

Local Data Storage

All extension data is stored locally using chrome.storage.local.

No browsing data is transmitted to external servers.

Data Management

Users can:

• Export stored activity data as JSON
• Import backups
• Clear all stored data

Permissions Explanation

The extension requires access to tab information in order to measure:

• the active domain
• visit counts
• time spent per site

Only domain-level information is stored.

Full URLs, form data, typed content, and personal information are not recorded.
