🎙 MICROPHONE MODE — FREE, ALWAYS

Captures your microphone using your browser's built-in speech engine. No sign-in, no account, no credits — just install and start. Works for in-person lectures, conference calls where you're a speaker, or any situation where you can pick up audio through a mic.

🤖 TAB AUDIO MODE — WHISPER AI (via Groq)

Captures the actual audio playing in your browser tab — the video, the instructor's voice, the meeting. Powered by OpenAI's Whisper model for high accuracy across a wide range of accents and speaking styles.

Two accuracy levels:
• Normal — processes in 10-second chunks. Fast and responsive.
• Optimal — processes in 30-second chunks. Best accuracy for recorded lectures.

Tab Audio runs on a credit system. Credits are purchased once, never expire, and cost as little as €0.60 per hour of transcription. Starter pack from €5.

WORKS EVERYWHERE

LessonScriptor works on any tab with audio — it doesn't matter what video player is used. Modern streaming platforms, password-protected institutional portals, legacy university systems with no caption support, corporate e-learning tools, live web meetings — all of it works the same way.

The extension operates at the audio level, not the player level. If sound is playing in your tab, LessonScriptor captures it. There is no list of supported sites, no compatibility requirements, and no player integration needed.

The transcript panel is a live editor. You can correct errors on the fly, add headings, highlight key phrases, write notes between passages, and restructure content — all while transcription continues.

Formatting options: Bold, Italic, Underline, Headings (H1–H4), Color highlights, Bullet lists, Quote blocks.

LessonScriptor does not create accounts, does not collect your email, and does not store any personal data. There is no sign-up — ever.

In Microphone mode: all processing happens locally in your browser using the Web Speech API. No audio leaves your device.

In Tab Audio mode: audio chunks are sent to Whisper AI for transcription and not retained beyond the request. Transcripts are saved locally in your browser only and never transmitted to LessonScriptor's servers.

Tab Audio credits are purchased via LemonSqueezy. Your payment and personal details are handled entirely by LemonSqueezy — LessonScriptor only receives an anonymous license key. That key is stored locally on your device.

LessonScriptor does not track your browsing and does not sell data.

1. Install LessonScriptor
2. Click the extension icon in your toolbar
3. Open the Side Panel
4. Choose Mic (free) or Tab Audio (AI)
5. Press Start — transcription begins immediately

For Tab Audio, activate a license key in Settings. Credit packs available at lessonscriptor.com.
