Law Firm GBP Tracker is a free Chrome extension that shows you how your Google Business Profile looks to potential clients, how it compares to nearby competitors, and what gaps might be costing you calls. It works directly inside Google with no accounts, integrations, or setup required.

What It Does

Install the extension, then visit your firm's listing on Google Maps, search your firm's name on Google Search, or open your Google Business Profile dashboard. A panel appears alongside your listing with five sections of information:

Core Stats - Your Google rating, total review count, and an estimated review velocity based on data the extension observes over time. Review velocity tells you whether your firm is actively building its review base or has stagnated.

Profile Strength - A score from zero to one hundred based on how complete your profile is. The extension checks for a verified website, phone number, business hours, address, category, photos, and review activity. Missing fields are listed so you know exactly what to fix.

Competitor Comparison - When nearby law firm listings appear on the same page, the extension pulls their names, ratings, and review counts and lines them up against yours. Each competitor shows a difference badge so you can see where you lead and where you trail.

Keyword Analysis - The extension reads review snippets visible in your listing and identifies the most frequently used words and phrases. These are the terms your clients naturally associate with your firm, and they can inform how you write your business description, Google Posts, and review responses.

Draggable Panel - The panel can be repositioned anywhere on the page and collapsed to a small button when you don't need it.

Where It Works

The extension is active on three Google surfaces:

business.google.com - Reads your GBP dashboard and checks for incomplete or missing profile fields.

Google Maps - Reads your full public listing including rating, reviews, business details, and nearby competitors.

Google Search - Reads your knowledge panel or local pack appearance when someone searches your firm's name.

Privacy

Everything is processed locally in your browser. The extension makes no external network requests. Your firm's name, rating, review content, and competitor data all stay on your device. Session data is stored in Chrome's local storage solely to support the review velocity feature. There is no account, no login, no email collection, and no subscription.

Permissions

The extension requests host permissions for business.google.com, google.com, and maps.google.com so its content script can read visible page content on those domains. The storage permission saves collected data and review velocity baselines in Chrome's local storage. No data is transmitted externally.
