Internet Resurrector

Increasingly, we see the same repeated, copied, or even AI-generated information on YouTube comment sections, which lowers both the material we can learn and our satisfaction with our time spent online. Those online have used the "dead internet theory" to represent the cause for much of this stagnation on the internet over time.

This extension, however, aims to revert these social media experiences, such as the mentioned "YouTube comments", back to how they were a decade ago! Using AI embeddings, which essentially capture semantic meaning of comments (beyond just words), along with enhanced spam and AI recognition features, the extension compares and removes (or blurs) comments that are too similar or too "fake" in nature. All features have extremely customizable potency; furthermore, there is also a customizable "sentiment" feature that removes negative comments, although off by default. Just install and go to any YouTube video you like and try it out!

My idea with this is that it represents a proof-of-concept of how we can proceed from our modern era of the "dead internet", specifically with the use of AI for "self-mediation", or the use of AI components and models (such as embedding encoding) to recognize and eliminate themselves. Currently, it supports only YouTube comments, but this will be expanded over time to other components such as community posts and videos themselves, alongside other platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.

The only data sent from your device are the YouTube comments to the HuggingFace-hosted AI, where they are returned back in their embeddings format! Neither these comments nor other extraneous data is logged, tracked, or kept in any record by this extension or any other platform.
