Overview
History Guard gives you full control over which websites appear in your Chrome browsing history. Add any site to your blocklist, and History Guard will automatically prevent Chrome from saving those visits — instantly and silently.
CORE FEATURES
★ Per-Site Blocking — Add domains like instagram.com, tiktok.com, or any site you want. History entries are deleted the instant they're recorded.
★ Stealth Mode — One-click to block ALL browsing history, like incognito mode without opening a new window. Toggle with Ctrl+Shift+S (Cmd+Shift+S on Mac).
★ Auto-Block Categories — Pre-built groups for Social Media, Dating, Shopping, Entertainment, and Gambling. Enable an entire category with a single toggle.
★ Schedule-Based Blocking — Set active hours (e.g., 9 AM – 5 PM) and days of the week. History is only blocked during your schedule.
★ PIN Lock — Protect your settings with a PIN so no one can view or modify your blocklist.
★ Whitelist Subpages — Block instagram.com but allow instagram.com/business. Granular URL-path control.
★ Block Statistics — See how many history entries have been blocked per domain with a visual bar chart.
★ Import / Export — Back up your entire configuration as a JSON file and restore it on any device.
★ Keyboard Shortcuts — Ctrl+Shift+H to toggle the current site. Ctrl+Shift+S to toggle stealth mode. No popup needed.
★ Right-Click Context Menu — Right-click any page to instantly block that site, toggle stealth mode, or whitelist the current page path.
★ Subdomain Matching — Blocking instagram.com also blocks www.instagram.com, m.instagram.com, and any subdomain.
HOW IT WORKS
Chrome doesn't have a built-in "don't record history for this site" API. History Guard uses a delete-on-visit approach: the moment Chrome records a visit to a blocked domain, it is immediately and silently removed using three interception layers for maximum reliability.
PRIVACY
History Guard runs entirely on your device. No data is sent to any server. Your blocklist syncs across your Chrome browsers via Chrome's built-in sync, and nothing else leaves your machine.
