Overview
GiffPop lets you search, choose, and insert GIFs into supported text fields across the web.
When you insert a GIF, GiffPop adds a lightweight text version of the GIF frame so it can appear in normal comment boxes and text inputs. People without GiffPop see the text version. People using GiffPop can see it enhanced as a GIF element.
HOW IT WORKS
• Focus a supported text field and click the GiffPop button, or press ⌘⇧G on Mac / Ctrl+Shift+G on Windows
• Search GIPHY’s GIF library using keywords, trending suggestions, autocomplete, or surprise search
• Click a GIF to insert it into the active text field
• The GIF is represented as compatible text for normal viewers and enhanced for GiffPop users
FEATURES
• Works in many supported comment boxes, post editors, and message fields
• Inserts GIFs in a format that remains visible even without the extension
• Includes GIF search, trending suggestions, autocomplete, and shuffled results
• Supports quick reaction searches for short phrases like “nice,” “lol,” or “wow”
PRIVACY
• Does not collect browsing history
• Does not read or store comment, post, or message content
• GIF search queries are sent to GIPHY to return GIF results
