Overview
Chrome Extension Watchdog helps you understand what your installed extensions can do, and how they may be changing pages.
Extension inventory:
• Lists all installed extensions with version, status, and permissions
• Each permission shows a plain‑language explanation on hover
• Permissions are color‑coded (low / medium / high risk)
Page change detection:
• Watches for risky changes like new scripts, iframes, form actions, URL/source changes, inline handlers, and sensitive inputs
• Shows “high‑signal” changes that matter for security
• Tries to attribute changes to the extension that likely caused them
Alerts and storage:
• Alerts are saved in local browser storage (browser.storage.local)
• No data is sent to any server
• You can filter by site/date and export alerts as JSON
How to use:
• Browse normally, then open the popup for a summary
• Click “Open details” to review full evidence and attribution in the dashboard
