Overview

AccessiWeb transforms any website into an accessible experience — instantly, privately, and for free.

Whether you have dyslexia, color blindness, low vision, motor difficulties, or cognitive challenges, AccessiWeb adapts every page to your needs with a single click. No account required. No data ever leaves your device.

ONE-CLICK ACCESSIBILITY PROFILES

Switch between four pre-built profiles designed with real accessibility standards in mind:

DYSLEXIA MODE
Applies a reading-optimized font (Arial), increases letter spacing, word spacing, and line height, and sets a warm cream background that reduces visual stress. Text is always left-aligned — never justified.

COLOR BLINDNESS MODE
SVG-based color correction filters for the three most common types:
- Deuteranopia (red-green, most common — affects ~6% of men)
- Protanopia (red deficiency)
- Tritanopia (blue-yellow)
Filters are applied via mathematically accurate color matrices directly in the browser — no image processing, no server calls.

HIGH CONTRAST MODE
Pure black background, white text, yellow links. Maximum contrast ratio for users with low vision or light sensitivity.

MOTOR MODE
Enlarges all clickable targets to a minimum of 44x44px (WCAG 2.5.5 AAA), adds generous spacing between interactive elements, and makes the keyboard focus indicator highly visible with a bright orange outline.

READER MODE

Strips away sidebars, ads, cookie banners, modals, and navigation clutter. What remains is the content — clean, centered, and readable. As you scroll, the current paragraph is highlighted automatically, guiding your eye line by line. Click any paragraph to have it read aloud immediately.

TEXT-TO-SPEECH (TTS)

Built on Chrome's native text-to-speech engine — no external service, no microphone, no internet required.

- Select any text on the page and press Alt+Shift+R to hear it read aloud
- Adjust speed (0.5x to 2x), pitch, volume, and language from the options page
- The active paragraph is highlighted in blue as it's being read
- Supports 7 languages: Spanish (ES/MX), English (US/UK), French, German, Portuguese

KEYBOARD NAVIGATION

Enhanced keyboard shortcuts for users who cannot use a mouse:

Alt+Shift+A — Open/close floating panel
Alt+Shift+R — Toggle text-to-speech
Alt+Shift+F — Toggle Focus Mode
Alt+Right Arrow — Jump to next landmark/section
Alt+Left Arrow — Jump to previous landmark
Alt+H — Jump to main heading
Alt+M — Jump to main content area
Alt+F — Jump to first form field
Alt+R — Read focused element aloud
Escape — Stop text-to-speech

A visual notification confirms each navigation jump, with full aria-live region support for screen reader compatibility.

AUTOMATIC IMAGE DESCRIPTIONS

Images without alt text are automatically analyzed and described using local heuristics:
- Reads aria-label and figcaption elements first
- Parses the image filename for meaningful keywords
- Injects the description as both an alt attribute and a visible tooltip
- Works on dynamically loaded images via MutationObserver

FOCUS MODE

Designed for users with ADHD or cognitive fatigue. A semi-transparent overlay dims the entire page, and only the element under your cursor or keyboard focus is illuminated in a spotlight. Everything else fades away — no distractions, just the content you're reading right now. Activate with Alt+Shift+F.

SEMANTIC HIGHLIGHTING

Color-codes the structural elements of any page to aid comprehension:
- Headings: blue left border
- Blockquotes: purple left border
- Code blocks: dark background with teal text
- Bold text: yellow highlight
- Links: thicker underline
- Abbreviations: dotted orange underline

PRIVACY FIRST — 100% LOCAL PROCESSING

AccessiWeb processes everything on your device:
- No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking pixels
- No user accounts required for free features
- No browsing history is ever read or transmitted
- Settings sync between your own Chrome devices via Chrome's built-in encrypted sync — Google never sees the content, only the preference keys
- Premium license validation uses an anonymous 8-character device ID — never linked to your identity

PREMIUM FEATURES

OCR — Read Text Inside Images
Uses Tesseract.js (WebAssembly) running entirely in your browser to extract text from images, scanned documents, and infographics — no upload, no server.

Real-Time Captions for Videos
Generates live subtitles for any HTML5 video using the Web Speech API. No server, no upload.

Custom Profiles
Save your exact configuration as a named profile. Up to 10 custom profiles synced across devices.
