Increase Chromecast Speed with Wired Ethernet [w/ subs]

00:00:00 – hi guys and welcome to techie curry
00:00:03 – today I'm gonna be showing you how to
00:00:06 – increase the stability and speed of your
00:00:09 – chromecast by using a wired connection
00:00:15 – the three main reasons you might want to
00:00:19 – go wide rather than wireless the first
00:00:22 – being speed why there's generally
00:00:25 – quicker the second is reliability and
00:00:29 – Wi-Fi can be kind of flaky sometimes
00:00:33 – there Andy the third reason is security
00:00:38 – you anything Wyatt is a lot more secure
00:00:42 – than wireless Wi-Fi can be can be hacked
00:00:47 – into an ethernet cables generally
00:00:51 – charmed so the idea with this project is
00:00:56 – to make the connection between a device
00:00:58 – and the chromecast more stable it's
00:01:03 – quite liable to drop out every now and
00:01:05 – then and hopefully get some better
00:01:07 – speeds so you can stream those HD videos
00:01:10 – without any problem it's really just a
00:01:13 – matter of connecting everything up and
00:01:16 – away you get the snow and configuration
00:01:19 – leaders on the crank last in fact when
00:01:22 – you start using a brown crust and after
00:01:26 – creating this wise nation you haven't
00:01:28 – noticed any difference at all there's no
00:01:30 – different icon there's no text anywhere
00:01:33 – to say this is a wise connection it's
00:01:38 – just really quite thinness so here's
00:01:41 – what you're going to need on the right
00:01:42 – there you've got the chromecast that's
00:01:45 – the first generation one yours might
00:01:47 – look a bit different to that in the
00:01:50 – middle you've got this is a it's got a
00:01:53 – USB connector on one end and it's got an
00:01:57 – Ethernet connector on on that end and
00:02:00 – the third item here on the left you've
00:02:02 – got a micro USB connector there so
00:02:05 – that's it's going to plug into your
00:02:07 – chromecast to deliver the power he's got
00:02:10 – a female USB connector that's going to
00:02:13 – connect to this USB connector and
00:02:16 – finally you got another USB connector
00:02:20 – that's going to plug in to the wall
00:02:23 – sockets yeah that near the power adapter
00:02:25 – in your wall take the power from the
00:02:28 – wall
00:02:29 – and deliver it into the ground craft in
00:02:33 – the video description below I will put
00:02:36 – the links to the products that I bought
00:02:38 – now you might be able to find some
00:02:42 – similar products that work work just as
00:02:43 – well so once you've got all these
00:02:45 – devices it's very simple let me show you
00:02:50 – how they all connect up so as I said
00:02:53 – this is going to plug into your USB
00:02:56 – power this micro USB connector will plug
00:03:01 – into the crown crafts this USB connector
00:03:04 – will have this USB connector plugs into
00:03:08 – it and so the final thing you need is
00:03:12 – just a regular ethernet cable to plug
00:03:15 – into here and then of course the other
00:03:17 – ends will go into your switch or maybe
00:03:20 – your routed directly an additional cable
00:03:24 – and connector you might want and because
00:03:27 – I found that these cables are very short
00:03:31 – so they didn't reach to the places I
00:03:33 – needed them to so I used just another
00:03:39 – just a regular hdmi cable but with this
00:03:43 – sort of barrel connector so you plug
00:03:48 – hdmi into one ends and another race you
00:03:51 – mind into the other if you plug your
00:03:54 – hdmi cable into one end and the
00:03:59 – chromecast and go into the other so that
00:04:02 – way this hdmi connector will reach will
00:04:05 – wait for TV so that's it super simple
00:04:08 – and once you connect all that together
00:04:10 – and turn blue devices on as usual and it
00:04:15 – should just work a small thing i noticed
00:04:18 – was that the wide connection and will
00:04:22 – have its own IP address separate from
00:04:24 – the wired connection and also a
00:04:29 – different mac address you might just
00:04:32 – want to take note of that if you've
00:04:34 – created some kind of specific rules on
00:04:38 – your router so that's it thanks very
00:04:41 – much for watching it
00:04:42 – has a comment or queries or even any
00:04:45 – ideas for future videos and please leave
00:04:48 – the comments below and I'll get back to
00:04:50 – you thanks very much
