Samsung Chromebook Pro — Review #2 / Обзор #2 [HD] [w/ subs]

00:00:00 – samsung chromebook pro be available in
00:00:09 – april for 549 dollars just one hundred
00:00:12 – dollars more than the arm power
00:00:13 – Chromebook plus it's been light
00:00:16 – attractive and made all of aluminum with
00:00:19 – completely rounded edges of ice feels
00:00:21 – much thinner than it actually is set
00:00:23 – right next to the straight cut a sous
00:00:25 – flip you'd be forgiven for thinking
00:00:26 – Samson's offering was actually thinner
00:00:28 – it isn't really but perception of feel
00:00:30 – go a long way when it comes to devices
00:00:32 – we predominantly interact with from a
00:00:34 – touch inside point of view if it looks
00:00:36 – and feels lighter it kind of is
00:00:38 – we'll talk about this throughout the
00:00:39 – review but the choice to go with a 3 by
00:00:41 – 2 aspect ratio paint many of the design
00:00:43 – choices going on here mainly because of
00:00:45 – the box your screen there's plenty of
00:00:47 – room for a large trackpad and spacious
00:00:49 – keyboard
00:00:50 – despite the diminutive 12.3 in size 3 by
00:00:53 – 2 also gives you more square inches of
00:00:55 – real estate verses 16 by 9 so the screen
00:00:58 – simply feels more spacious as well
00:01:00 – hinges are firm here in the convertible
00:01:01 – setups are sturdy and work well in the
00:01:03 – overall aesthetic is clean and free from
00:01:05 – unsightly ports and dense across the
00:01:07 – bottom or just screws feet speak reports
00:01:09 – for being so thin at point five inches
00:01:12 – and so wide it 2.38 pounds to build
00:01:14 – feels quite sturdy not giving much bow
00:01:16 – or flex when pressure is applied to
00:01:18 – either half of the device
00:01:20 – my only gripe is a slight flex in the
00:01:21 – middle of the keyboard but i had to put
00:01:23 – some real pressure there to notice it
00:01:25 – and it was never a parent in normal
00:01:27 – day-to-day use for selection is limited
00:01:28 – similar to the Aces flip giving users
00:01:31 – access to two USB seaports headphone
00:01:33 – microphone jack microsd card slot in the
00:01:36 – already famous 10 we'll talk more about
00:01:37 – the pan and a few minutes this port
00:01:39 – layout will likely become pretty
00:01:40 – familiar in the Chromebook market given
00:01:42 – the USBC is just so good at everything
00:01:45 – the days are coming sooner than later
00:01:46 – when will live in a fully USBC world but
00:01:49 – we aren't quite there yet
00:01:50 – adapters and dongles will be in play for
00:01:52 – the short-term to get things like
00:01:54 – external displays going
00:01:55 – luckily USBC docking ports from Samsung
00:01:58 – and asus do the job just fine and work
00:02:00 – with Chromebooks exactly as you'd expect
00:02:01 – the downward firing speakers are fair
00:02:03 – but not great few laptop speakers are
00:02:05 – but these do a decent job of projecting
00:02:08 – sound in any layout almost seeming to
00:02:10 – allow some sound to radiate up through
00:02:12 – the keyboard as well even when
00:02:14 – it up completely sound still comes out
00:02:16 – loud and clear the display it's probably
00:02:18 – the shining star for the Chromebook pro
00:02:20 – and plus and it's insane 2400 x 1600
00:02:24 – pixels across 12.3 inches makes for 235
00:02:28 – pixels per inch and razor-sharp
00:02:30 – everything chrome OS has been scaling
00:02:33 – like this since the pixel basically
00:02:35 – rendering everything a two hundred
00:02:36 – percent clip so out-of-the-box your
00:02:38 – resolution is actually set to 1200 x 800
00:02:41 – and the scaling is just fantastic with
00:02:43 – this setup everything's a bit larger and
00:02:45 – more touch friendly than anything I've
00:02:46 – used up to this point from a Chromebook
00:02:48 – perspective this thing is made for
00:02:50 – touch-enabled android apps and I'd be
00:02:52 – remiss not to mention the crazy
00:02:53 – brightness here as well
00:02:55 – 400 nits that's brighter than any
00:02:57 – macbook up into the very latest version
00:02:59 – and its brightest both pixels no
00:03:01 – environment will give this thing any
00:03:03 – issues regardless of the glossy screen
00:03:05 – viewing angles are superb as well colors
00:03:07 – pop and the bezels are nice and small-
00:03:10 – that bottom 1 i'm guessing with
00:03:12 – convertible this is where lots of the
00:03:13 – tech hide almost every convertible has a
00:03:16 – large bottom bezel I'd love for that to
00:03:18 – eventually go away
00:03:19 – still I can't say enough about how good
00:03:21 – this screen is it simply makes me want
00:03:23 – to use the same some chrome book pro for
00:03:25 – just about anything that I can
00:03:27 – moving on to input devices like the
00:03:29 – keyboard trackpad and pen
00:03:31 – not everything is perfect granted the
00:03:33 – things i have to say about the input
00:03:34 – methods aren't exactly a knock against
00:03:36 – the device they are however deserving of
00:03:38 – a few comments and your consideration if
00:03:40 – you're thinking about buying this thing
00:03:41 – the keyboard
00:03:42 – well it's a bit odd due to the 3 by 2
00:03:45 – aspect ratio and the more square screen
00:03:48 – and device shape the keyboard is
00:03:49 – actually laid out a bit different
00:03:51 – basically take a full-sized keyboard and
00:03:52 – shave off about half the width of the
00:03:54 – keys on both the left and right side and
00:03:57 – you can imagine what we're dealing with
00:03:58 – here everything is where it should be
00:03:59 – but those our keys take some getting
00:04:02 – used to the margin for error is just
00:04:04 – simply smaller after a few days I didn't
00:04:06 – have much issue at all the travel is
00:04:08 – good and clicking this feels great
00:04:09 – additionally the keys are suddenly cut
00:04:11 – to hug your fingers and typing actually
00:04:13 – feels really great
00:04:14 – there is no backlighting much to the
00:04:15 – disappointment of many of you and
00:04:17 – there's no indication this will change
00:04:18 – down the road so that's a deal-breaker
00:04:20 – I'm afraid this device probably won't
00:04:21 – cut it for you for me it's a small
00:04:23 – mission so I wasn't really that
00:04:24 – concerned about it
00:04:25 – the trackpad is fantastic i look pretty
00:04:27 – hard
00:04:27 – that and I'm under the impression that
00:04:28 – it is glass coil resistance is great in
00:04:32 – the surface they smooth for long long
00:04:34 – periods of time the cliq mechanism
00:04:36 – nailed it as well
00:04:36 – delivering the best track performance i
00:04:39 – could possibly ask for multi finger
00:04:40 – gestures work just as expected
00:04:42 – responding each and every time i called
00:04:44 – on them
00:04:45 – finally there's the pen utilizing white
00:04:47 – comes TMR tech the Chromebook pro and
00:04:50 – plus both put all the magic in the
00:04:52 – screen and what this means for you is
00:04:54 – that the pin needs no battery and is
00:04:56 – relatively inexpensive to replace
00:04:57 – because it's smaller size it can be
00:04:59 – stowed inside the device giving the pen
00:05:01 – a simple easy place to live when not in
00:05:03 – use when put to use the experience is
00:05:05 – still a bit of a mixed bag google keep
00:05:07 – does well with responsiveness but I had
00:05:09 – a better time taking notes and microsoft
00:05:10 – onenote because of the lined paper
00:05:12 – options overall the pin is very precise
00:05:14 – but if it's moving too quickly to
00:05:17 – perceive lag is still a bit off-putting
00:05:18 – google astounding that chrome OS is
00:05:20 – utilizing machine learning algorithms to
00:05:22 – actually detect where your parents
00:05:23 – headed next to reduce lag would hold
00:05:25 – full judgment on that as the device that
00:05:28 – we are reviewing is locked to the beta
00:05:29 – channel as a thing begins to ship out
00:05:31 – everything is moving along and stable
00:05:33 – channel
00:05:34 – perhaps this will actually behave a
00:05:35 – little better when pulling the pin out
00:05:37 – of its lot of small icon appears and
00:05:38 – then dr. notification giving users a few
00:05:41 – cool tricks with the stylus that include
00:05:43 – a screen capture screen region capture
00:05:45 – laser pointer magnifier and just to
00:05:47 – create a new note one of the really
00:05:50 – useful options taking a screen grab and
00:05:51 – immediately beginning to annotate that
00:05:54 – pic in Google keep its really come in
00:05:56 – very handy for me this time goes on
00:05:58 – I'd expect these options to expand
00:06:00 – internally were met with the quorum 3
00:06:03 – processor paired up with four gigs of
00:06:05 – RAM and 32 gigs of internal storage and
00:06:07 – while that's plenty for a Chromebook and
00:06:08 – the thing gets around just fine
00:06:10 – we have to consider the fact that this
00:06:12 – thing is pushing a ton of pixels with
00:06:14 – this beautiful display and so from time
00:06:16 – to time that causes a bit of lag here
00:06:17 – and there
00:06:18 – don't let that alarm you and likely
00:06:20 – eventually its chrome OS continues to
00:06:21 – get updated most of that lag is likely
00:06:23 – to disappear battery life has been
00:06:26 – really good as well delivering eight to
00:06:28 – nine hours of use on a charge sure if
00:06:30 – you crank the screen up two hundred
00:06:31 – percent battery does take a hit but the
00:06:33 – great thing about the screen is affected
00:06:35 – you really only need about fifty to
00:06:36 – sixty percent brightness in most
00:06:38 – environments to feel plenty satisfied
00:06:40 – while you
00:06:41 – get the new samsung chromebook are built
00:06:42 – from the ground up with android apps in
00:06:44 – mind we just saw chrome is 56 launched
00:06:47 – this week along with play store access
00:06:49 – on stable channel for some newer devices
00:06:51 – which other devices will get to play
00:06:52 – store in the stable channel this point
00:06:54 – is unclear but Samsung has made it very
00:06:55 – clear the android app support is at the
00:06:58 – heart of this device and apps on the
00:06:59 – stable channel are basically guaranteed
00:07:01 – at launch with that in mind i'll say
00:07:03 – that the Android experience is a bit
00:07:04 – better on this device and others mainly
00:07:06 – due to the fantastic screen it's 3 by 2
00:07:08 – layout and the devices depth wait
00:07:10 – there's still work to be done for sure
00:07:12 – and until we see Android nougat it's
00:07:14 – resizable apps i don't think the whole
00:07:16 – experience is going to come out of that
00:07:17 – beta field it works but they're nagging
00:07:20 – issues here and there that still make
00:07:22 – android app still not quite finished
00:07:23 – running android apps will get much
00:07:25 – better over the next few months as we're
00:07:27 – now moving into the refinement period of
00:07:29 – the play store and I think Samsung has a
00:07:30 – clear vision of this device being the
00:07:32 – absolute best at this very thing
