Asus C302 Chromebook Flip Review: Is it upgradable and how fast is it? [w/ subs]

00:00:00 – here is our quick and to the point
00:00:01 – review of the ACC 302 Chromebook flip
00:00:05 – our unit comes with a core m 3 processor
00:00:16 – 4 gigs of RAM and 64 gigabytes of
00:00:20 – storage now you may know that the
00:00:22 – samsung chromebook plus does not come
00:00:25 – with 64gb storage come to 32 so one up
00:00:28 – for asus here the typing experience on
00:00:31 – the h suits chromebook see 302 is
00:00:34 – absolutely excellent it reminds me of my
00:00:36 – acer chromebook 15 and we did get a
00:00:38 – chance to demo the samsung chromebook
00:00:40 – plus and because of the cramped keyboard
00:00:43 – it just doesn't make for a very good
00:00:46 – typing experience so definitely the
00:00:48 – keyboard on the SEC 302 is much better
00:00:50 – than the samsung chromebook plus you
00:00:53 – also have to give it to a sous for their
00:00:55 – trackpad on this chrome book because
00:00:56 – it's slightly better than the microsoft
00:00:58 – persistent tracks had on the XPS 15 and
00:01:00 – it's not quite as good as the macbook
00:01:02 – pro trackpad obviously but it is on par
00:01:06 – with the acer chromebook 15 which is
00:01:09 – pretty good on the left side of the
00:01:14 – device you have a USB type-c a volume
00:01:16 – rocker power button a headphone jack in
00:01:18 – the left speaker grill and on the right
00:01:21 – side you have another USB type-c a
00:01:24 – microsd card slot and the right speaker
00:01:27 – grill this allows for stereo sound which
00:01:30 – will go into later while this model is
00:01:32 – priced high at four hundred nine dollars
00:01:34 – you do get a full-size keyboard a
00:01:36 – wonderful trackpad and an overall great
00:01:39 – typing experience with plenty of key
00:01:41 – travel one thing to always be concerned
00:01:43 – about though with the thin and light
00:01:45 – chrome books or laptops is keyboard flex
00:01:48 – and as you can see here there is very
00:01:50 – little flecks in its machine which like
00:01:54 – I said before makes for a wonderful
00:01:55 – typing experience especially with
00:01:57 – something this thin and light we're
00:01:59 – going to roll right in here to the
00:02:00 – octane experience and I know octane has
00:02:03 – been
00:02:05 – you know touted as not being used
00:02:06 – anymore because I guess manufacturers
00:02:10 – were trying to boost scores artificially
00:02:12 – to improve sales or whatnot of
00:02:14 – Chromebooks but here as we've run the
00:02:16 – octane we're going to see that the core
00:02:18 – m3 does outperform a lot of the older
00:02:22 – Intel processors like this in the Acer
00:02:24 – Chromebook 15 i have my acer chromebook
00:02:27 – 15 usually gets about a 14,000 on octane
00:02:31 – and let's see what the core m3 can feel
00:02:34 – over here because this is the Chromebook
00:02:37 – flip as a hinge that is 360 degrees that
00:02:40 – allows you to put in this Chromebook in
00:02:41 – a number of position these two positions
00:02:42 – are probably the most common especially
00:02:44 – with Android apps admittedly though I
00:02:46 – don't use Android apps and I don't use
00:02:48 – the touchscreen I simply use this as a
00:02:50 – chrome browsing experience but I know a
00:02:52 – lot of people are going to buy this just
00:02:54 – for the android apps here's the head to
00:02:56 – head speed comparison between acer
00:02:57 – chromebook 15 and the sea 302 by asus
00:03:00 – the verge calm loads about the same and
00:03:04 – here we have YouTube which is about the
00:03:08 – same and next we have google news about
00:03:12 – the same now let's hear how the speakers
00:03:16 – sound
00:03:23 – [Music]
00:03:29 – Oh
00:03:36 – what we're all very good for a
00:03:39 – Chromebook while the SEC 302 is not made
00:03:44 – out of a solid block of aluminum it does
00:03:45 – have a very good build quality let's
00:03:47 – open it up here to see what is
00:03:49 – upgradeable or what is not upgradable
00:03:51 – such as the RAM or the storage in this
00:03:55 – Chromebook now oftentimes Chromebooks
00:03:59 – are not upgradable I know that my acer
00:04:01 – chromebook 15 allows me to upgrade the
00:04:04 – storage with another into SSD which I've
00:04:08 – done although not all SSDs are
00:04:10 – compatible with the HR Chromebook 15 so
00:04:13 – that sometimes can be an issue so we're
00:04:16 – going to head and get this open and
00:04:17 – we're going to see what is upgradable
00:04:19 – and what is it you do have to take the
00:04:22 – bottom two feet off the back in order to
00:04:24 – access the screws and always use a
00:04:31 – plastic pry tool to prevent scratching
00:04:33 – to the metal that's we don't want to use
00:04:35 – a screwdriver on this part while every
00:04:39 – Chromebook lovers dream is to be able to
00:04:40 – pop open the bottom of the laptop put an
00:04:42 – extra four gigs of ram make eight gigs
00:04:44 – ram and it's going about life and
00:04:46 – fortunately with this model we're not
00:04:48 – able to do that in fact we're not able
00:04:49 – to upgrate anything and set possibly the
00:04:51 – wireless card the battery looks to be
00:04:53 – serviceable so that's good just remove
00:04:55 – those screws and service battery here's
00:04:58 – the thighs comparison between the a63 or
00:05:00 – two dell XPS 15 and the Acer Chromebook
00:05:03 – 15 kind of gives you an idea about if
00:05:05 – you're going to carry this thing around
00:05:06 – day to day what kind of size and bulk
00:05:08 – are you looking at the AC 302 is very
00:05:12 – small very easy to carry around about
00:05:13 – 2.4 pounds compared to a lot of the
00:05:16 – other larger laptop this will be very
00:05:18 – easy very easy to carry around and
00:05:20 – that's about it folks that's the end of
00:05:22 – a review if you have any questions
00:05:24 – please post them in the comments and
00:05:25 – like and subscribe
00:05:35 – you
