I am sort of confused about why Google decided not to include this basic operation. Most browsers have a refresh option in the right click menu but Chrome does not.

Part of their logic I suppose is to keep the design simple and fast. The refresh button is located on the left side of the URL bar. Also you can simply use the hot key f5 to refresh the page.

I always used F5 in Internet Explorer, so I had no problem with this, but I can see it being annoying if I used right-click refresh instead. Ah well, something we should perhaps suggest to Google...

I understand what you're saying though, this is something very simple to implement and some people may be used to right clicking to refresh.

I'm not really sure why, but it doesn't really make any difference to me. Besides, the refresh button is just up the corner...

What about the Back and Forward buttons that are prominently displayed at the top yet appear on right click?
